Green Conglomerate

The stone called green conglomerate is often also called 'breccia verde antico'. It has an overall green colour and includes numerous rounded broken pebbles in different colours. The stone was quarried in the Wadi Hammamat. Only the Romans used it on a larger scale. However, in Pharaonic times objects made in this stone include the sarcophagi of Ramesses VI and of Nakhthorhebyt (Nectanebo II).
