Shurafa: the fort
Plan of the fort published by Mackay. Beneath the east wall was found a foundation deposit (?) consisting of bones of a camel in a small chamber. Following the observation of the excavator the fort seemed to have no gates: presumably they were above the levels which survived.

Grossmann 1991: 465 (brief
description of the fort with description and some plans of the other forts
known from Egypt)
