Metal in the Naqada Period
(Baumgartel 1960: 2-23)

Copper
Most metal objects surviving from this period are made from copper; all are small in scale

Only from the end of the Naqada Period (Naqada III) are there more complex and larger objects.


Gold objects
Iron objects

 

objects of silver (generally with a significant proportion of gold) are quite common

tombs with silver objects:

Naqada tomb 1770 (thin silver ring); Naqada tomb 1257 (jar cap of silver)

Naqada tomb 1547 (silver bead UC 4999)
