Hawara the tomb of Horwedja; date: 30th Dynasty

The tomb named by Petrie 'the tomb of Horwedja' is the burial place for many individuals. Several mummies were found adorned with amulets, some of them were gilt. The tomb contained about 400 shabtis (now in different collections; and four canopic jars now in Cairo). The sarcophagus of Horwedja was made of limestone with three inner coffins.
