The origins of food production in Egypt

there are two possible sources for the knowledge of agriculture

the western desert (Africa)
the hypothesis is mainly based on the discoveries of domestic cattle and crops at Bir Kiseiba and Nabta Playa. The evidence for these early domestic cattle have not yet found widespread acceptance among specialists.
the southern Levant is very close to the Nile delta. Agriculture is attested there from about 8500 BC. A wide range of crops was cultivated.
