Artaxerxes III (342-338 BC)

Achaemenid Persian king.

The king is not attested in hieroglyphic inscriptions, but his name occurs in a demotic papyrus. There are coins with his name in demotic, most likely struck in Memphis. The coins (with the head of Athena) are based on Greek prototypes.
