Administration in ancient Egypt

Society may be organised at various levels and with looser or tighter structures - the structures of 'government' or 'administration'. In the archaeological record, administration becomes most directly visible with the development of writing and sealing, and sometimes in functionally specific structures in architecture. In the Early Dynastic period, writing is closely connected with the royal court, and the extant administrative records concern supplies of foods and materials for the court.
