Memphis: Workshops and Industries
Memphis must have been from the beginning an important centre of arts and crafts. The title of the high priest of Ptah is wr xrp Hmwwt - great one of the directors of craftsmen. The local god Ptah is the 'patron deity' of arts and crafts. The workshops found belong mainly to the Ptolemaic and Roman Period.
